Hi Johnny! Let's all get Dixie Fried! Good to hear one of Carl Perkins' old tunes and oddly enough, the b-side of a current Canadian saying, "Sorry, Not Sorry". Paul McCartney claimed, "If there were no Carl Perkins, there would be no Beatles." And while Macca might be exaggerating, Carl's influence on the band is undeniable. For example, The Beatles officially recorded and released "Honey Don't", "Everybody's Trying to be my Baby", and "Matchbox", all in 1964, and played “Lend Me Your Comb”, "Sure To Fall" and "Glad All Over" in their early days.
Thanks as always, Captain! It is interesting that ye Beatles covered more Carl Perkins songs than Chuck Berry songs... and then there's all those Arthur Alexander tunes they did. Good taste, those Mop Tops. Rock on.....
