John Avolio is a French Dj from Marseille, France, based in Shanghai, China. He made his first steps in DJing when he turned 8, with a Gemini 626.

John Avolio started right away to play with his father’s vinyl records and turntables. Soon he got enough mixers and cd decks to learn on his own the way to DJ. Passion never left and he went through every kind of music genre to accumulate knowledge.

Hobbit started to turn pro, when in 2011 he established in Shanghai. His passion for music and nightlife led him to mix work and pleasure: he became a party promoter, then an event manager and started to DJ for his own concepts in most of the famous nightclubs in the city.

He finally got settled in Bar Rouge, awarded Best Club in Shanghai for several years since its creation in 2004. As a Project & Event Director, John Avolio has been invited by the Bar Rouge Music Director to be a resident DJ thanks to his ability to be a versatile mix machine and to be able to adapt to any kind of crowd.
