"Jason Rafael is a New York based Cuban-American artist; a 21.77 year old (according to Threadless.com) New York City boy, born and raised.

Jason has been studying fine art from a very young age. He began at the St. Ignatius of Loyola in Manhattan, being mentored by the head of the art department. Then, at St. Mary Star of the Sea School on City Island in the Bronx, while studying art aside with and being mentored by a 'funny and old Italian man' who was known for his children's Illustrations. After that he began studying at the All Hallows Institute in the Bronx, but later moved to Rockland County, NY in 2006 where he attended Ramapo Senior High School.

Although nearly always city bound— Jason’s love for New York does extend beyond the borders of his city hometown. His ultimate objective: to capture the essence of culture around the world, through more than one form of art; whether composed in box-liked structures or plastered onto palets of canvas.
