Abandoned buildings, quiet harbours, hazy landscapes, remembrances from the past, people in their everyday occupations. Closer is about music fusing into environments, happenings, and people. It's a mix of ambient music, but probably a bit more "intense" or eventful in style than an average ambient mix. Most of the music here has a dusty, hazy, texture-like characteristic, that kind of forms a "dry framing" around the track. This is also the kind of style in the ambient field that intrigues me the most at the moment.
Field recordings are in a big role in this mix. I think that environmental recordings and composed ambient soundscapes has a relation, a similarity in a very basic level, and that is what I also wanted to emphasize here.
There are some older and some newer music featured here. My priority with this mix was to carefully choose tracks that would fit together and make the mix keep its general sound throughout.
