James is an Ibiza based electronic music artist, broadcaster and record label owner. He cut his teeth in the north of England writing music and DJing for fun, then in the early 00s he and a friend decided to form a music act and have been releasing music and DJing around the world since.
James left the UK and settled in Ibiza in 2013 and after a few years as a resident here, absorbing the energy of the island he felt it was time to get more involved with the local music community.
Whilst playing some of the more notorious venues like Space and DC10 in his house and techno duo, JR Hartley was created as a solo alias to play all of the other music he loves. You can find him in smaller, more underground venues such as Malanga and Las Dalias, playing to his friends, the locals and the more curious visitors.
