James Montiel, Himay, is a Denver based house DJ with more than twenty years experience. A member of the DJ collaborative Dirty Funk Squad, Himay has previously held residencies in Denver at the Snake Pit and Opal, as well as hosting his own radio show based out of Philadelphia for Deep House Lounge. A local favorite known for providing an eclectic style of house, ranging from disco to deep, Himay has opened for DJ’s such as King Britt, Rob Paine, JT Donaldson, DJ Garth, Gene Farris, DJ Nature, Julius Papp and Derrick Carter; however, he brings a following and a definite feel for the crowd that is independent of a headliner. A local favorite for the sunrise set at outdoor parties such as Pitch A Tent or indoor parties, Himay has the ability to play either a vinyl or digital set that will keep the crowd dancing.
