For Zak Cooper (Soultrader), DJing has grown hand in hand with his passion for the music industry and his work within it. Having been first introduced to a set of turntables in 2007, he was brought up in a fiercely competitive local scene, comprised of little other than Drum n Bass.

After feeling stifled by a lack of variety, he sought to expand, merging with going concerns from the spheres of Hiphop, Soul, Funk, House, Duke, Footwork and stuff that doesn't even have a name yet. His sets take in music old and new, often crossing between genres and styles, always with intent in their chosen direction.

After sharing the stage with a range of those whom he was inspired by, playing the New Zealand festivals he had dreamed of and headlining a series of shows around his homeland, he now aims to share his wares with the rest of the world, one country at a time.
