As the nation’s only non-utility community of practice on smart grid education, the Illinois Science and Energy Innovation Foundation (ISEIF) is looking beyond the technology that enables the next generation of energy services. As the electric grid undergoes the most significant infrastructure upgrade in over a century to a smart grid, consumer roles will change in fundamental ways. Decisions around electricity usage will be more active, assisted by home energy management technology, and effective programs that take human behavior into consideration.
The Surge Series podcast, hosted by ISEIF’s Clare Butterfield and Uzma Noormohamed, explores the human side of the smart grid, featuring experts from forward-looking organizations in the energy sector.
