Mark launched his DJ career in 1988, spinning Hip-Hop and Electro at his local youth club. By 1990, the Acid House movement hit, and he fused it with his sound to create tough breaks driven by deep, funky basslines. Throughout the early-to-mid '90s, Mark became a fixture on the underground rave circuit across Southern England.

Mark founded **Sound Surgery Records** in early 1999, partnering with Infectious Distribution. The label's first release, *Dr's of Funk - Perverted Breakz Vol. 1*, hit UK streets in early 2000. **SS-002** introduced Electro City Funksterz's signature blend of electro distortion, Drum and Bass FX, and dark basslines. **SS-003** featured Mark's solo project **Dr Prozak** with *Tortured Beatz*, alongside D-Committee, Skinny Asthmatics, and Dr's of Funk.
