London, United Kingdom

It’s rare to hear about UK producers that have been adaptable enough to hold their place across an entire decade as North London’s iLL BLU. Comprised of childhood friends James Grant and Darius Ellington Forde, the pair first began making waves in 2008, with legendary tracks like Princess Nyah’s ‘Frontline’ and their infamous remix of Shystie’s ‘Pull It’, becoming staples of the UK Funky House sound. However, the pair have avoided being pinned to a specific genre or scene, continually thrilling their listeners through adaption and reinvention. By returning with fresh new sounds time and again, they’ve been able to outlive trends and maintain a prolific and fruitful career. iLL BLU built their underground foundations through releases on cult labels like Numbers, Hyperdub and MadTech, before going onto a major label run with Island Records and recently signing a new deal with RCA Records.
