A NYC native; product of a culturally rich and diverse musical environment. Came of age in NYCs The Loft. Though familiar with many other iconic dance spots, much of my philosophy and approach to selecting and playing music for people, springs from the lessons learned, in those days.
Though the music constantly changes, the values the criteria and the connection between music and dancer are timeless. The criteria is straightforward, “good music that’s good to dance to”. I reach back. I look forward. I delve in near and distant pools and dive down musical rabbit holes to find songs that not only please the ear, but move one physically and spiritually. Finding those gems is tremendously gratifying. Sharing them with others is infinitely more so.
