Housewife's Choice

Guildford, United Kingdom

"Housewife's Choice" is a ska tune by Derrick Morgan and Millicent "Patsy" Todd, a Leslie Kong production originally called "You Don't Know", later renamed by a local DJ. Written by Derrick Morgan and released in 1961, this tune began the legendary rivalry between Morgan and Cecil Bustamente Campbell ("Prince Buster"), who accused Morgan of stealing his ideas.
"Housewives' Choice", on the other hand, was a BBC radio record request program broadcast every morning from 1946 to 1967 on the BBC Light Program. It played a wide range of mostly popular music intended to appeal to housewives at home during the day.
