In São Paulo dance music didn't start in the city center or posh areas, but in the east side where 3 night clubs called Toco, Contra Mão and Overnight went against all odds and mixed house, hip hop, techno and funk, giving birth to a whole subculture that even now few people can understand. From that same area, comes 4 guys that absorbed the influence of those nights clubs and now they are crystalized as Hatchets, crossing influences from late 80's/early 90's dance music with a band feel.
