Derrick Adams: The Holdout A Social Sculpture with Curated Radio Station Organized by Curator Dexter Wimberly February 12 – April 25, 2015 Opening Reception: February 12, 2015, 6 – 8pm http://aljira.org/upcoming-exhibitions/ Derrick Adams's new solo project, The Holdout, consists of sculpture, photo and text-based work alongside a curated radio station of music and spoken programming, including live interviews conducted and broadcast from within the sculpture during the run of the show. The multi-functional architectural sculpture floats in the middle of the main gallery as an outpost, a bunker, a fortress or temple viewed from the outside; a defining structure, inside of another community-based structure.
