Frankenthaler (aka Kate Novokshonova) is a Moscow-based producer, DJ and contemporary art curator whose work treats sound as a curatorial medium. Since 2017 she has been building a cross-institutional practice, moving between underground spaces, museums and galleries.
Her sets dive into dark, gravitational techno with acid flashes and razor-sharp, unpredictable switches, delays and repetitions — like being pulled into a black hole and not knowing where the next drop will land. Operating between exhibition space and dancefloor, she constructs narrative-driven mixes that translate concepts, memories and encounters into pressure, tension and release.
Frankenthaler regards each appearance as a form of intervention, employing sound as a curatorial tool to alter perception and spatial experience through resonant, dynamic frequencies.
