I was born Pietro Francesco Caletti-Bruni on1February 4 ,1602 in Crema, Lombardy on the river Serio. I was a singer (soprano) at St Mark's Basilica in Venice in 1616, where I was a student of Claudio Monteverdi. It all got better from there. I became known for my operas, some of which are enjoyed, even performed, today. I wrote for the stage, including works produced in Paris. All went well until I died in January 1676.
