While working in contemporary visual and sound art fields as an independent curator, writer and radio host, Esther B also plays the toy turntable, (man) handles vinyl records, and records soundscapes. She has performed in Canada, in France, in the US; additionally, her works have been presented in England, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Palestine. Improvisation allows her to create raw, non-linear music peppered with altered sonic quotes and abstracted sounds, textures mostly produced by vinyls that have undergone specific alterations (grinding, cutting, etc.). She also organizes concert series : since 2002 Un microphone dans une tempête de noize devoted to experimental music and Duo, solo, trio dedicated to improvised music for acoustic instruments.
