Having been an original member of the VNI crew (Vinyl Not Included) in the late 90’s, he traveled between Texas and Oklahoma performing using only hardware, not vinyl records like most of the performers were using at the time. In 2003, he boarded a Greyhound bus going to Ohio to get certified in Sound Recording and Engineering. He also bought his first pair of 1200’s & a cheap mixer to learn how to mix records, practicing every day for a year. He honed his craft the following year as he would DJ on a weekly DNB audio only streaming show titled Signal Flow Radio long before the internet DJ’s of today. He began to DJ live most weekends between OKC and Dallas. Urban Cowboy has opened for many acts such as Evol Intent, Gein, DJ Hidden, Mason, Ben Sage & E-Sassin whom are some of his biggest influences. Today, you will usually find him playing DNB with heavy, chopped amens and acid leads with occasional four to the floor 909 kicks reminiscent of the early sound of hardcore/dnb from 1992.
