Edwina Quatermass-Palmer is very new to playing synthesizers: her debut performance was at Wavelength, at Flowergate Hall, Whitby. Her preference for analogue instruments is no surprise, given her classical music (piano, violin) upbringing.

She is very much influenced by the poetry of her friends, her mother, and Wendy Carlos. Inspiration comes from the ancient and modern everyday, which might be a mundane detail of a shopping list, the weather, a birthday, a monolith.

Edwina is currently working on music that includes samples from friends' creative works, with a classical structure, e.g., development of a central theme. She is also working on a project with Tomoroh Hidari (Death Librarian, The Dubnihilist) in gathering musicians to record Steve Reich's, "Music for 18 Musicians", played on children's musical instruments.
