Part 2 of Wrongtom's Think In Flight mix series sees the DJ digging further into the vaults of funk, soul, jazz and afro-rock made on UK shores long before the Brit-funk explosion at the turn of the 80s.
Think In Flight II follows a similar path to the first; Cymande, Danta and The Equals all appear once more, with forays into organ-heavy jazz-rock and even the wigged-out groove of Edgar Broughton Band who Cymande supported in the early 70s. There’s afro-funk from Jabula (featuring Steve from Cymande on bass), quasi-reggae disco from Aylsebury’s The Chequers, Eddy Grant's lesser-spotted band 32nd Turnoff, a B-Boy classic from Hatfield’s Babe Ruth which blends into a wild version of the Morricone’s theme from A Few Dollars More, and features Al Matthews aka Apone from Aliens on percussion. Where’s the Sarge!!?
