DR. J (Vibe Department) inspiracijo črpa iz breaksov, garage-ja, grajma zlomljenih 4x4 poskočnic in starih funky godb do novih breakbeat in bigbeat klasik. Prav tako pa mu niso tuje poslastice v obliki dub-a, dubstepa in reggaeja.
Za nadimkom Dr. J najdemo Jakoba Drmoto, v drum and bass vodah poznanega tudi pod imenom Erma iz ekipe Vibe Department. Na kratko, pod DJ Dr. J-jem se skriva še vsa ostala bass godba, katera ni dnb in ga še vedno konkretno premika.
