The 'X' is an abbreviation of ‘excavator’, which is an homage to the obsessive track excavation ritual that started in 2014. Ever since, his carefully curated track collection gradually expanded, counting in the thousands today, ranging from hard techno, tribal, reminiscent sounds of 90s house and trance, all the way to industrial and ebm. Having a deep passion for cinematography, his ‘mutant’ techno sets are often enriched with motives from movie soundtracks.
Dooban X is one of the founders of Kolektive Base, a music collective from Belgrade, assembled by five DJs, producers and obsessive music enthusiasts. Sharing the same passion, but different background and experience, Kolektiv has been growing in the public eye through series of private after-party events taking place in their studio.
