Born and raised in the Bronx New York to Jamaican parents, Dj Tandi has always had a passion for music. Throughout her college career, she made mix cd’s for her friends and was known as the “go to” person for music. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree from Delaware State University, Tandi returned to New York City to become an elementary school teacher. Tandi always incorporated music into her lessons in order to keep her students engaged. Five years ago Tandi decided that she was ready to pursue her life dream of becoming a DJ. Tandi reached out to one of her DJ friends and she told him that she was ready to take DJing seriously. After about a month of practicing the basics, Tandi decided it was time to purchase her own equipment. Tandi began to spread the word to her friends that she was going to become a DJ, and those friends began to spread the word as well.
