Born and raised in the “Uptown” section of the Bronx… Knowing at the age of nine Being A DJ was his first love. During the prime of hip-hop and reggae in the 90’s, 2002 he started making mix cd’s for his classmates and teachers in high school. From the response to his music selection, DJ MATRIX became infectious and his push forward to becoming a New City name had begun.

Growing as a child, music was all around him, his Father who is a close friend with reggae singing star Wayne “Sleng teng” Smith who change the reggae seen in the late 80s with his smash hit “Under Mi Sleng Teng” which was a great influences in MATRIX life. Wayne who built a studio in MATRIX bedroom singed day and night showing MATRIX where music can take him.

Influenced by his West Indies background, his favorites in music stretch from reggae greats like Sanchez to alternative bands like Green Day. The sky is the limit to the genres of music he enjoys. Like most New Yorkers- MATRIX knew that if he wanted to make it
