DjLj began mixing music at the early age of 12. Not having any technology but two cassette players and a volume knob fader between the two. Developing a passion for all genres of music, he became enthralled with electronic music in his early teens. He arrived at his first rave in 1997, and was instantly transformed. Realizing the peace, love, unity and respect (P.L.U.R.) of the culture, he began mixing trance, progressive and house at various shows, parties and gatherings by the early 2000's.

In 2002 he moved to Portland and immediately fell in love with the city. Shortly after his move, he was stricken with cancer, and won the battle. During the healing process, he joined the collective minds of the Temple of Sound (ToS) in Portland. Considered a legal church, they spread their voice of passion and love through music nearly every weekend in their shared dual leveled warehouse space. ToS allowed many their entrance into the EDM world, and changed lives. The rest is history.
