London/Rio De Janeiro, United Kingdom

Dan Markham aka DJ Dementia is a founder and resident of two international DJ crews; Size Doesn’t Matter (SDM) UK, based in London, and the Botafogo Social Club (BSC) from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Born and raised in West London, Dan began DJing in 1997 and has travelled the world playing funk, hip hop, disco, house, reggae, blues, jazz and rare groove from as far afield as Shanghai and Sydney to Rio and Jamaica with plenty of other places in between. Alongside Sy Kurrage (SDM), Dan was one of the early internet-radio DJs at the pioneering interFACE in the late nineties when the medium was still very much in its infancy. Years of London residencies later and the renowned 5-piece SDM collective were born from a love of “big sounds on small records”. The long running night celebrates its 12th anniversary in 2014 and has seen the great and good of the UK and world music scene grace their turntables over the years most recently hosting the Kraken Tent at Festival Number 6 in Sept 2014.
