Kurt Jooman aka Dizmo, grew up in Port Elizabeth, which is now known as Nelson Mandela Bay in South Africa.
Music played a big roll in Dizmo’s life, even before he himself knew it. “My father passed away while I was still very young and all that I knew about him was that he was very fond of music because of all the records and musical equipment he had left behind, and also from what my mother had told me about him. I started listening to his records at a young age and chose the best ones out of the lot, which I would listen to frequently. I also started listening to radio shows on the music system which he had left behind. I can remember the immediate infactuation I had with all the lights on the system, and how they where some how in tune with the sound that was coming out of it. I wanted to know what each button was for, so I pushed them all until I found out exaclty what each ones purpose was”.
