Biography
Disko Stew are a group of record collectors, DJs and promoters based in Leeds. Our events have rapidly evolved from a little basement party in Hyde Park and, after a collaboration with Leeds' finest Disco, House & Funk aficionados ‘Raised By Wolves’, we began our monthly jam at the brilliant HiFi Club.
Heavily influenced by Roy Ayers, Tom Molton, Blaxploitation movies, and Don Cornelius’ seminal 70s music show ‘Soul Train’. The Disko Stew Residents, who operate a vinyl only policy, will collaboratively dig the crates, taking you on a cosmic journey through everything deep and soulful from Afrobeat, Latin Funk & Soul to Edits, Italo & Deep House, with a healthy dose of classics thrown in.
