When I first heard Patrck M's "Papillon" which starts this album I was inspired to dig into a mix heavy,deep and holding the tension between melodic and rhythmic. The month that I picked up the tracks, it was as if a number of artists had tapped into the same moment of universal consciousness..tracks on Beatport were thicker, a bit more more tribal, and deep with organic elements. These tracks lead us into some of that urban mind-set tech-house that I love and that reminds me of some of the best parts of what I loved about the UK Hardhouse sound that I explored for seven or eight years in my twenties, and then some Warehouse terrace-techno that reminds me of everything that I love about the tech-house sound and movement. A journey into true, thick and deep city night...anywhere.
