DISCOUNT DISCO is a musical collaboration ten years in the making between DC native turned NYC resident, DJ Jouez! (Elise Edwards) and DC dance-scene staple, Sneakers in the Dryer (Eric Henderson). Sneakers & Jouez met after attending what would historically be the last of the legendary seasonal MASSIVES at the Paradox in Baltimore in 2009.

Jouez’s musical influences include an eclectic mix of movie soundtracks, dance classes, NPR and early MTV. Sneakers' influences include classic Mo-town from growing up hearing his parents' favorite oldies station, video game soundtracks, and an impulse to collect music which resulted in a library that has grown continuously since middle school. Sneakers' highly technical approach reflects his background in architecture and general enthusiasm for building sound, knowledge, and energy. Jouez’s lifetime in performance and spiritual arts brings soul and storytelling to DISCOUNT DISCO’s sound, often jumping timelines, cultures, and vibe.
