I took an Essential DJ skills class at Point Blank. For our final we had to perform a 15 minute mix. I had my set ready for weeks and must've practiced it dozens of times but I was still nervous when the time finally came to perform it. I wanted to throw in all sorts of tricks from the lessons we had learned over the weeks. Sounded cool in theory but in practice maybe it was too much because of course I totally screwed up during the performance! (yikes)
Early in the set, I had a song playing on one deck and cued up the next song on the other deck, I noticed something sounded different but kept going; turns out I had cued up the wrong song and now I had the same song playing on both decks (ahhh oh no!!). Definitely a moment of panic but I recovered quickly enough and the rest of the performance went smoothly. Sheesh. You live and you learn haha.
