Shaun Collins & Mark Harbert were a Portsmouth-based DJ double act going by the alias’s Dangermouse & Penfold.
They were in particular, hugely influenced by the sound and style of dance music played at the “The Manor” nightclub in Verwood before it closed down in November 1999. Whilst Shaun (Dangermouse) was more trance-orientated, Mark (Penfold) brought a more Hard House feel to their sets but when playing out together it was neither style but very much a unique blend of the two.
Gaining residencies at the relatively small trance nights “Transcend” and “Space Cadet” through 1999-2003, they were catapulted into the limelight when gaining a residency at the legendary “Fishtank” nights in 2001 and from there they went from strength to strength. The duo made a string of high-profile gigs over the following years in London and across the south coast gaining a second residency in 2004, this time on the “Steamin!” boat parties which operated out of Portsmouth until 2006...
