The first time my hands touched turntables and vinyl was in my neighbor's garage in 2006. With humble beginnings I mixed the "whisper song" instrumental with the vocals from "yeah!" and this is when I knew what I truly enjoyed. Later I continued to purchase the two Numark turntables, stanton battle mixer, and the rest of my neighbor's vinyl so I could practice on my own. A few years later, a friend of mine introduced me to digital mixing controllers. Taking traditional mixing techniques from records into the digital realm allowed me to explore more creative freedoms. After watching a show on campus, I talked with the DJ backstage. He recommended that I check out Traktor, and I am sure glad that I did. I am more than happy with my Traktor Kontrol S4 and the creative mixing power it allows me to demonstrate. After a few years of mixing, I was ready for production. Now that I am using the Maschine Studio I can finally start making my own tracks. The best is yet to come!
