DMZ is a collaboration between DarkMatter and Zin:Lumi. Their sound is a collision of break beat, glitch hop, and tech funk.
They started playing out in Munich around 2012 and somehow ended up sharing the decks at 90% of our gigs. It was never intended for them to start a DJ duo but as time went by they realized that's what the partnership has become. So when darkMatter & Zin:Lumi decided to take the long way home before moving back to Los Angeles, it just made sense to give the collaborations its own name - DMZ. The initials of their names as well as a tribute to their vested interest in supporting human rights.
