Bass is DJ-ing since 1994, but he was already heavy infected by the sounds when house started to get ground late 80's. He got inspired by the "pure sounds" created by the early producers in the first years of house between '87 and `94. He joined nearby (or was part of) the small underground house-scene in Amsterdam since 1989. He calls himself pretty a specialist in house-classics and owns a collection of highly qualified vinyl tracks.
His style of playing can mainly be defined as soulful. Building up his mixes with deep proper techno to higher levels filled with firm techno tracks. Most of his tracks can be described as “distinctive”. There’s a kind of quality in his tracks which you can call typical underground. Above all an absolutely non-commercial style.
He prefers to play what he calls “MWSA”, which means “Music With Some Attitude”.
