Dj Akademy is a sound system which was originaly created in Bordeaux France in 1986, one of France's very first sound systems! At the time it was called "Ceddo Bi" and became DJ AKADEMY SOUND SYSTEM in 1989 with Selectas Daddy Jeff and Cook alongside Mcs : Puppa Demba, Daddy Steph, Professor Mara, As Jah Love and Daddy Cedric and Paul Hotter.
The name changed because of the number of resident singers and deejays in the jamaican sense to feature on the sound!
Since its creation the sound has always been active in introducing and promoting Jamaican music to the french masses! Playing music from the 50's up to recent productions with a heavy focus on Ska, Rocksteady , Roots and Rub a Dub, the sound aims to keep the original sound system culture alive by working with local and international artists such as U Brown, Ras Daniel Ray, Peter Youthman, Young Kulcha , Zion Irie, Junior Roy and Dapatch MC to name a few !
