DJ Thanujika aka TGK is another highlighted icon of local DJ industry. He is vastly recognized as the initiator of the digital DJ culture in Sri Lanka which has grown rapidly amongst the local DJs. Thanujika is a DJ that entertains crowds with diverse music styles and never stops to amaze crowds with his unique selection for tracks. He also is well known for his stage acts with top local hip-hop artistes. From his extensive years as a DJ,In year 2005 He joined the premier Lounge bars in Sri Lanka, Glow and Tantra which was the first venue in Sri Lanka to use a modern Digital Vinyl system (RANE/Serato Scratch Live) which was installed by DJ Thanujika himself. Playing eight hour shifts between both bars on weekends, Thanujika was rated the ‘Most Wanted DJ - 2006’ by a Colombonightlife (CNL) poll and played beside top act DJ Nihal (BBC Radio Asian Channel) in 2005. He then moved to the Taj Samudra discotheque, Club Nuovo ( www.clubnuovo.com ) in 2006 (Formerly Onyx) as the resident DJ.
