Born in Paris, France, DJTear (Sebastien Marcovici) moved to New York City at age 17 and was introduced to the Drum & Bass scene early on. Immediately after spending some time in the clubs he fell in love with the intensity of the syncopated beats and multiple bass grooves.

It wasn't until he started attending DJ Seoul's popular weekly party Direct Drive that he was inspired by NYC DJs like 4Real, Doomer, Dara, Empress, Seen and Reid Speed to teach himself how to DJ, and to eventually produce his own original tracks.
