Peak District based DJ Rookie (in name only) began mixing in the late 90's, cutting his teeth on the turntables at house parties while studying at university in Sheffield. His selections explored a wide range of styles from Trance through to Drum&Bass, heavily influenced by the thriving rave scene in Sheffield at the time.
Now a resident DJ on @underground_kollektiv radio he has refined his style to hone in on a common thread running through his selections. Whether it's the acid-tinged, glitchy pulse of Electro, the powerful punch of Breakbeat, or the raw energy of Jungle and Hardcore, breakbeats are at the core of his mixes.
