After spending countless hours on South African dance floors – both in Johannesburg and Cape Town – Renier took up the headphones himself and made his debut as trance DJ in 2010. His love and passion for trance, as well as a thorough understanding of the needs and wants of clubbers are the driving factors in his quest to become one of South Africa’s best young and upcoming trance talents.
In Renier's music style – as exhibited in his set of demo’s called “Tranception” – he explores the boundaries of trance, combining his infectious enthusiasm with a deep appreciation and knowledge of the rich varieties of trance. His favourite genre remains melodic and emotional uplifting trance, with strong affinity for the likes of Dash Berlin, Gareth Emery, Bjorn Akkeson, Ronny K, First State, and the likes.
