As a native of Baltimore, Maryland born in the early 80’s, DJ Niledge has truly experienced the golden era of hip hop. Inspired by artists such as The Wu Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Boot Camp Click and all-time favorite artist, Redman, DJ Niledge’s love of music, style, and culture began to develop. At the age of 15, DJ Niledge learned how to play as a disc jockey and produce music, i.e., beats but only as hobbies. At the time, the future DJ had no idea that people could actually go to school to learn about music, let alone make a living from it.
In 2004, DJ Niledge earned his bachelor’s degree of Science in Electrical Engineering from Morgan State University. Having passion and an ear for good music, Niledge would discover the musical works of Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to name a few. His love for dancing would lead him to his nightclub experience at Hammerjacks and Paradox along with a slew of other local spots to get his “dance on”.
