Beautiful Noise airs on terrestrial station WMUA at 1430 EST every Tuesday, and is made available here as well. Two hours of great music at your earbudtips.
With a lifelong love of music, DJ McDadMan (Dave Van Iderstine by day) unspools a cornucopia of sound. Exposed to Cocteau Twins at a tender age, he took a 20 year detour through jazz and swing, chairing The Hard Bop Café radio show at WMUA, while serving as their jazz director.
The 21st century brought a renewed interest in those strange sounds first heard in the 1980's, as well as a killer job at an audio products company, where his software touches every bit you hear. A renewed commitment to live music exposed him to the beautiful pastiche of current bands, and brought him to share this expanding horizon through his second radio show at MUA, Beautiful Noise.
