DJ IM, the tongue-in-cheek stage name for Jim Howard’s eclectic blend of beats and blips, reflects his ability to have a laugh on the decks. Born out of the late 2000’s Drum & Bass scene, having learnt to mix vinyl in grungy home-studios, his style rolls between fast-paced double drops and slow intricate weaving of vocal lines and deep bass. Since those early days, he has pivoted into a range of genres from house, garage, club, latin, tech, bass and funk – but let’s be honest, his track selection tends towards the melodic, groove and bass driven.
