I DJ now simply because I enjoy it. I am thankful for a platform like Mixcloud. I no longer do gigs. I have no aspirations of residencies or securing new gigs. I just like doing it. It is part of my being; it is what I was born to do.
I do my house mixes for people that were in the clubs in the 80s, 90s, early 2Ks, still love club and house music from that time and still want that vibe today. I try to curate tracks that are new releases that give me that same vibe and energy of what I partied to in the past. I always lean into old tracks that have been updated and mixed to sound like they were originally released today.
I am sure there are others like me who want to escape on a musical journey that evokes some nostalgia from time to time, but don’t necessarily want to leave their house to do it! You are my tribe! Whether you are a two stepper now or an elite chair dancer now, I got you!
