We Called It Techno 2

We Called It Techno 2

Obviously, this is the follow-up to my recent "We Called It Techno" megamix, and if all goes well, there will be more in the series. It's significantly shorter than the first one, but it still packs a punch. If you were involved in the rave scene of the early 1990s, this mix hopefully bring back plenty of memories.

As with the first one... The title of the mix comes from the fact that I know a lot of these songs won't technically qualify as "techno" to the genre purists out there. Some, I'm sure, would qualify as old-school rave, or electro, or possibly even breakbeat. However, in Oklahoma in the 1990s, we didn't break down the subgenres too much. Most of those who went to the clubs such as Ikon back in the day would have defined the tracks as "techno." We loved the music, and we called it techno. :)

I really like the mixes in this series.

That's an interesting remix of Can You Feel It. Mine's titled Terrorize. It seems like there were tons of records that were released during that era that were the same, just released under an alias, or white label alias.

Thank you for the kind words, Scott! The mix of "Can you Feel It" was released by Ultimix on Ultimix 44. I have a mix on another service called "It's Just a Feeling"/"Can you Feel It," credited to "Terrorize/Elevation." I haven't listened to that mix in years, so I don't know how it compares to the Ultimix.

I also have the It's Just a Feeling 12" by Terrorize on Hamster Records. I wonder if it was also released under the Elevation name.
