***during the era between disco and hip hop...there was what we in NY called "club" music. You would hear these tracks on the radio and on the dance floor...but no dance floor was as legendary an the one at the Paradise Garage on King St. Larry Levan spun each of these tracks and this is the birth of House music. Frankie Knuckles sat by Larry's side during those years until he moved to Chicago...spinning in the same style as his mentor at the Warehouse...and House got its name. This doesn't quite do it justice, but you can gig anyway. Inspired by a someone who in spite of being from and living in NYC, never made it to the mecca.
Special Shout to DJ Squid, who would end every set with the first track...i would never leave until i heard the whole thing...
