SERBIAN CHURCH CHORAL SOCIETY of PANCHEVO
The oldest church choral society among the Serbs began its activities on Christmas Day of the year 1838, when the mixed-choir chanting resounded for the first time from the choral gallery of the cathedral dome of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God in Panchevo. The historical significance of the choir is in the fact that by its foundation, the mixed-choir chanting is in the liturgical rite despite the ban by the Synod of the Constantinople Patriarchate and the patriarch Antym who issued a “district epistle” on that subject, in 1846.
PANCEVACKO SRPSKO CRKVENO PEVACKO DRUSTVO - PSCPD
Najstariji crkveni cetvoroglasni hor u Srba, osnovan daleke 1838. godine u Pancevu i od tada nije prestajalo sa radom.
Istorijski znacaj Drustva je i u tome sto je i uprkos zabrani Sinoda Carigradske patrijarsije, uvelo cetvoroglasno horsko pojanje u liturgijski obred.
