Not my era normally but very interesting to hear Dave Pearce present the show and he was terrific I thought . Loved hearing the trailers for other shows too. Good tunes too. Actually surprised to hear Roy chubby Brown get played!
Alice, who the bloody hell is Alice?! The big “audience participation” song over here in Europe; compared to America and Mony Mony (“Get f’ed, get laid, etc.”) and Australia’s “Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again” (“No way! Get f’ed! F’ off!”).
Thank you SO MUCH for uploading this one Catweazle, I’ve been hoping that a Dave Pearce fill in week would be uploaded on here one day. Will look forward to listening to this and reliving memories. Dave Pearce also wasn’t too bad at the top 40 if I remember correctly.

I remember hearing this one. I had just started a weekend job as a pot washer in a nursing home kitchen, my shift finished at 7pm. I went in and noticed a radio, perfect. The other staff there didn't like Radio 1 so I had to change the channel when they were on a coffee break and hope that noone noticed, which they didn't 😁.
I didn't realise it was Dave Pearce until now. He was good at it, very witty.

Strange hearing Dave Pearce hosting the Top 40... usually in the late 90s and early 2000s, you’d have Dave’s Dance Anthems after the Sunday Top 40 show. He’d let you win the ENTIRE Top 40 singles via a competition! Thanks, Catweazle!
Chances are Stephen, you probably win record tokens to the equivalent of 40 singles, which is what people got when winning the Top 3 Forecast competition in late 80s on the Top 40
