CGB-1 started deejaying in the late 80s, playing Hip Hop and Dancehall while listening to a large variety of musical styles, especially Reggae.
By 1993, increasingly dissatisfied with the direction Hip Hop had taken and true to his ever pioneering spirit, he switched to playing what by then had become to be known as Hardcore, Breakbeat, then Jungle.
Just a few years later, again being unhappy with the loss of MADNESS and the increasingly formulaic shape of Drum & Bass he decided to focus on Reggae, the music he had always loved and that was the blueprint for most of the electronic dance music to come, be it Hip Hop, House, Techno, Jungle - you name it.
Never having been part of the Reggae DJ circuit he developed rare skills in presenting the gems of his vast collection to crowds unacustomed to the genre.
Because he always had a keen interest in other styles of dance music he is not your typical Reggae DJ who plays the the canonical Evergreens or the latest craze from the charts.
