I'm 61 years old right now. In 1977 I started as all-round DJ at a drive-in show. It was a hugh discothek. The crowd on the dancefloor, at the bar and all others who had a ticket, were mostly thousands. I've done that work for several decades. At home I mixed on my turntables, Revox tapedeck and Teac-cassettedeck, a lot of productions.
Now I'm working for a lokal radio station. My broadcasts are fullfilled with special mixes, remixes, reworks, edits, mashups. As long as they are never released before and the quality of sound is good enough to play it on the radio, I can use it. Mostly I make some changes in case of measures who are off key or when the duration is too long for broadcasting.
I always give the credits to the deejay/producer who made again an awesome production.
It's fun, it's an adventure, because it always can be better. Even after all those years of experience. That really gives a kick. Everytime again.
Grtzzz,
richard
